Life is good. I say that because I got to watch a sunset on the west coast tonight. I’m in Monterey, CA for the weekend at the Sea Otter Classic. This festival is all things 2-wheeled, with races, rides, exhibitions, demonstrations with bicycles. Actually, I’m not doing it justice, because there was actually a guy on a fat tire unicycle riding around. (Those always impress me, so I have to learn the uni thing someday.) Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of him, but I’ll look again tomorrow.

I’m here to meet and hang out with our friends at Bicycling Magazine. Bicycling nominates manufacturers for Editor’s Choice Awards and they announce the main awards of the year this weekend at a big VIP BBQ. (If you remember, we actually on an editor’s choice award for our Pacific Rain Shell last fall.) We’re very proud to be nominated in 2 of the main categories this year.
Our Women’s Metric Bib Shorts have been nominated as an Editor’s Choice Award for Best Women’s Bib Shorts, and our Performer Bib Shorts have been nominated as an Editor’s Choice Award for the Best Bib Shorts Under $100. I’m hoping for the best. These are truly 2 fantastic products and it would be awesome to have that confirmed by the editors. Fingers crossed!

Bicycling also hosts an industry ride on Friday morning and I’m very happy to say that I get to ride on this trip. This is the only trip I take to a major bicycle event, where I actually get to ride a bike. That makes this special for me. My friends at Cannondale have hooked me up with a new SuperSix for the ride tomorrow. I never miss the chance to try different bikes, so I’m looking forward to riding this one. Thanks to Cannondale for helping me out with a demo bike.
