How great would it have been to have bicycle racing as a high school sport when you were going to school? I say it would have been pretty awesome. Don’t believe me? Just ask the student racers at Drake High School how great it is. If you ask them this week, you’re libel to get a little celebratory Cytomax on your jersey. That’s because the Drake Pirates successfully repeated as the California State High School Mountain Bike Champions! Congratulations to the team on a fantastic performance.

The NorCal High School Mountain Bike League is an organization that is bringing bicycle racing to high school athletics. We have supported them for several years and we commend them on a job well done. The CA league has inspired other areas of the country to follow suit, providing bicycle racing to our high schools. Hopefully, it will take hold in your area as well.

Take a look at the passion in the eyes of these 2010 CA State High School MTB Champs and you will understand why junior cycling development is so important and so rewarding. Congratulations to everyone in the Drake High School program on a terrific accomplishment!

Don't be fooled by the smiles, or you might get dropped.

When the coach has a skull and cross bones on his hat, you know he means business!

Look at all that hardware.

Way to go Drake High School!
