The BMC Racing Team is off to a great start at the Santos Tour Down Under with some awesome performances on Stage 1. After a super aggressive ride by Martin Kohler, who was out on a break all day, Danilo Wyss held his own with some of the best sprinters in the world to score an impressive 4th place finish in Tanunda, Australia. Kohler’s efforts earned the young Swiss rider the Jayco Sprint Leader jersey, which he’ll wear on Stage 2, and the Best Young Rider jersey. We hated to see him give up his Hincapie Sportswear BMC Racing Team Jersey, but this is as good a reason as we can think of to do so. Congratulations to Kohler, Wyss and the whole BMC Racing Team on a job well done.

We rarely get to see our cycling heroes in a more casual setting. Here’s a great shot of some of Stage 1’s BMC stars before the start. Remember these faces. I suspect that we’ll be seeing a lot of them this season.
