On Sunday, April 25, George Hincapie did the Amgen Break Away from Cancer ride from Davis to Santa Rosa, CA this weekend. More than 600 cyclists joined George on the 113-mile ride that traced the exact route that the racers will race in the Amgen Tour of California in May. The ride helped raise money and awareness for Amgen’s Break Away from Cancer charitable partners.

A portion of each rider’s entry fee will be donated to Breakaway from Cancer’s charitable partners — Prevent Cancer Foundation, Cancer Support Community (formerly The Wellness Community), Patient Advocate Foundation and National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. The April 25 ride helped raise more than $50,000 for the cause.
